European Meeting on Osmosis on 27th of April in Brussels !

IMI was earlier involved in a quickscan about Osmotic energy (energy generation using the salinity gradient of fresh and salt water).

This innovative technique remains not well known. IMI thought of gathering in Brussels all the relevant stakeholders of the Osmotic energy production.

The goal of the meeting is to explain what is the state of the art of this technology in the Netherlands and in Norway, what are the constraints (ecological and technical) and what are the advantages and which support can Osmosis have from EU institutions.

Besides creating a network, this initiative aims at bringing solutions to enhance its economic viability, and give possible directions for business performance.

Representatives from the osmosis developing firms in Europe, but also regional governments and other interested parties like the European Commission have the occasion to learn about this new type of energy production.
